About The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo aka Cleveland Zoo

The zoo is dedicated to improving the lives of wildlife and people through conservation education, research and stewardship programs. The zoo is committed to creating compelling experiences that connect people with animals and inspire them to take personal responsibility for conserving the natural world.

Our mission is to inspire a greater respect and understanding of the natural world, and improve the future for animals through exhibits that are both modern and spacious. Through education and research, we provide a glimpse into the animal world that you can only experience in person.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve been coming to the zoo for years, there are always new and exciting things to see. The Zoo’s collection of more than 3300 animals is one of the largest in the world, and our zoo’s state-of-the-art facilities are some of the most beautiful in the country.

There are a lot of cute and cuddly zoo babies, too! In the past few years, we’ve seen orangutans, giraffes and otters having babies of their own.

We love seeing them grow and change over time, too! It makes us feel like we’re watching them grow up and develop into amazing, wise beings.

Orangutans are a special kind of animal. They are extremely intelligent, social and highly experienced. Orangutans are also among the world’s largest great apes.

In fact, orangutans can live as long as 80 years in the wild!

The zoo has an incredible collection of orangutans and they are always looking for ways to help them grow. The zoo recently purchased a property in the Florida Keys where they will be able to expand their breeding program.

They also have a breeding program in Australia to keep koalas on the endangered species list.

There are also a lot of other great things to see at the zoo. You can ride the tram and view animals up close. And, if you’re feeling really adventurous, you can try the Eagle Zip Adventure over Waterfowl Lake! Learn more about The Cleveland Botanical Garden.
